Abstract
Silver iodomolybdates are under investigation in order to define a transpor t model for AgI-based oxide glasses. In this paper we report a preliminary EXAFS study on a glass of composition 0.66AgI:0.33Ag(2)MoO(4). The EXAFS Fo urier transform shows two peaks that are attributed to the coordination wit h oxygen (Ag-O distance 2.38(1) Angstrom, coordination number 1.5(3)) and i odine (Ag-I distance 2.830(5) Angstrom, coordination number 1.5(3)), respec tively. The present coordination numbers confirm our previous Ag-109 NMR re sults. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
