Abstract
Ni metal supported on a perovskite-type oxide (Ca(0.8)Sr(0.2)Ti(1-x)FexO(3- alpha)) has been developed as a high-performance anode catalyst of an elect rochemical membrane reactor for CH, conversion into synthesis gas. Synthesi s gas production has been accelerated by electrochemical oxygen pumping, an d selectivity to CD at 900 degreesC was almost 100%. The Ni/Ca0.8Sr0.2Ti0.9 Fe0.1O3-alpha catalyst exhibits excellent stability for carbon deposition u nder the CH4 conversion compared with that over Ni/Al2O3 as a typical catal yst for CII, conversion. This is attributed to the oxidation of carbon depo sits by the lattice oxygen species migrating to the Ni-Ca(0.8)Sr(0.2)Ti(0.9 )Fe(0.1)O3-alpha boundary with mixed conduction in Ca0.8Sr0.2Ti0.9Fe0.1O3-a lpha.
