Polymeric mixed ionic electronic conductors

The paper discusses polymer mixed ionic electronic conductors (p-MTECs) and the I-V relations of Galvanic cells based on p-MIECs with ion blocking ele ctrodes. As a preparation for the discussion of p-MIECs, we first review sh ortly conjugated polymer semiconductors and polymer electrolytes. It is sho wn that the conjugated polymer semiconductors are MIECs, not purely electro nic conductors. On the other hand, electronic conduction can be neglected i n the polymer electrolytes. The best p-MTECs are blends of polymer electrol ytes and conjugated polymer semiconductors. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
