Abstract
The synthesis of optically active, functionalized tetrahydrofurans and tetr ahydropyrans via Fe(CO)(4)-mediated cycloetherification has been accomplish ed. The ring closure reaction proceeds with chirality transfer and under re tention of the configuration at the allylic carbon center.
