Abstract
alpha-Trifluoromethyl amines (IV) were prepared in three steps: prepar ation of alpha-trifluoromethyl ketones (I), their conversion to benzyl oximes (II), and reduction of the oximes (II) with lithium aluminium h ydride and sodium methoxide. For example, alpha-trifluoromethyltridecy lamine was obtained from the reduction of trifluoromethyl dodecyl keto ne benzyl oxime. (C) Elsevier Science S.A.
