Abstract
Nontypable Haemophilus influenzae is a common cause of otitis media and ini tiates infection by colonizing the upper respiratory tract. In this article , I review our current understanding of the molecular determinants of H. in fluenzae colonization and discuss the relationship between colonization and otitis media.
