Abstract
Some consider Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria) nothing more than a we ed. Fortunately, honey bees pay no attention to such human concepts and mak e ready use of the plant as a source of nectar. This square-stemmed woody p erennial can be found in wee locations from Nova Scotia south to Virginia a nd westward to Minnesota and Missouri.
