On the occurence of dusky cockroach (Ectobius lapponicus [Linne, 1758]) inbuildings

In Germany, the dusky cockroach (Ectobius lapponicus [Linne, 1758]) lives i n woodland. Dwelling of these insects which are not considered a pest, in b uildings is an extremely rare observation. In early summer of 2000, several areas of a forest hospital were found to be infested with Ectobius lapponi cus. In contrast, the German cockroach (Blattella germanica [Linne, 1767]) had not been found in that hospital for years. In the light of the literatu re available, an attempt is made to provide a survey of infestation of buil dings with the dusky cockroach.
