Abstract
We report experiments to transform Dictyostelium discoideum using a simple home-made particle gun. Stable transformants were obtained at frequencies o f up to 2500 clones/mug DNA. This is five times more than we achieve with t he same vector using electroporation protocols. We also show that the parti cle inflow gun can be used for analysis of developmentally regulated gene e xpression in a transient assay. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights r eserved.
