An introduction to IP networks

It seems almost impossible to pick up a paper or watch the news without bei ng told about how IP is changing the world Within the IT business we are of ten hearing terms such as 'router', 'routeing protocol', 'packet', 'DNS' an d 'IP address', but it is not always made clear what these terms actually m ean, and how they relate to each other. This paper aims to provide a conden sed summary of IP terms and concepts for the IT professional who wants to f ind out more about IF, but cannot find the time! Those already working in I P may find this paper fills in some gaps in their knowledge.
