Abstract
The alpha -ketocarbene 2-oxocyclohexa-3,5-dienylidene (lambda (max) = 360, 375 and 388 nm) is detected upon laser flash photolysis of 2-bromophenol in aqueous solution; its formation is confirmed by photoproduct studies.
