Abstract
A tibiotarsus of an archaic bird from the Upper Cretaceous of Fox-Amphoux ( Var, southern France) is described and referred to the Enantiornithes. Take n together with other recent discoveries of Late Cretaceous birds from Fran ce, this find suggests that at the end of the Cretaceous, the European avif auna was dominated by archaic forms.
