Abstract
The structure of NaCs5Mo7O24.5H(2)O was established by X-ray diffraction an alysis (lambda Mo, 7279 reflections, R-aniso = 5.3%). The parameters of the triclinic unit-cell are as follows: a = 10.517 Angstrom, b = 10.824 Angstr om, c = 16.916 Angstrom, a = 66.930, beta = 67.14 degrees, gamma = 72.40 de grees; Z = 2; P (1) over bar. The compact groups consisting of seven MoO6-o ctahedra are linked into a three-dimensional framework via a system of hydr ogen bends. Five independent Cs atoms are located in large cavities of the framework. The coordination environment of a Na atom is an octahedron forme d by oxygen atoms of water molecules.
