Abstract
A method for studying ferroelectric domains in the crystals of the triglyci ne sulfate group is developed. It can be used, in particular, to dope cryst als for pyroelectric applications. The method combines the use of the elect rooptic effect and the surface decoration with nematic liquid crystals. It also provides an opportunity to characterize the degree of bulk and surface homogeneity of polar plates from the topographs of their switching in a un iform quasistatic electric field.
