It is shown that a stripe domain structure with inclined domain boundaries
provides the characteristic trapezoidal distribution of the Faraday compone
nt of magnetization responsible for the magnetooptical diffraction. The dis
tribution of the light field diffracted from the domain structure is obtain
ed, and the dependences of the intensity and polarization characteristics o
