Abstract
Long-period gratings were fabricated in hydrogen-loaded telecommunication f ibre using 157nm F-2-laser radiation. A >20dB attenuation peak at 1590nm wa s induced with only 5.0J/cm(2) accumulated fluence, a value > 250-fold smal ler in comparison with fluence requirements for 248nm KrF-laser irradiation .
