Abstract
The microbial index of soil pollution obtained by the method of enriched mi crobial cultures characterizes the status of the soils polluted by polychlo rinated diphenyls. The application of activated humic acids may considerabl y reduce the content of xenobiotics in strongly polluted soils (with the co ncentration of diphenyls exceeding the maximum permissible concentration by 60-200 times).
