Abstract
3-(Thiphenoxy/phenoxy)-4-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-2-quinolinones are synthesized in high yields for the first time by the cyclocondensation of N-(2-chloroac etylamino)benzophenone with thiophenol/phenol under basic conditions.
