CATALYSTS BASED ON ORGANIC POLYMERS, THEI R ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES, PREPARATION, AND INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

A review concerns catalysts based on polymers and compares their advan tages and disadvantages with other industrial catalysts. Basic informa tion is given on the preparations of polymer-based catalysts, especial ly by functionalization of polymeric materials. Main part of the revie w presents applications of polymer-based catalysts, e.g. in the produc tion of methyl tert-butyl ether, tert-amyl methyl ether, bisphenol A, acrylic esters, and phenol derivatives, and in the hydration of olefin s, etc.
