Abstract
Several lignin derivatives were analyzed by aqueous phase High Performance Size Exclusion Chromatography (HPSEC): Calibration and sample analysis were carried out with a Superosa 12 HR column (30 cm x 10 mm i. d.) purchased f rom Pharmacia, The mobile phase was a sodium hydroxide solution containing other electrolytes, such as NaCl, LiCl, and Na4P2O7.Sodium polystyrene sulf onate standards were used for calibration, The optimum mobile phase for ana lyzing samples with average molecular weight of 7050, 1858, 7867 daltons wa s found to be 0.1 M sodium hydroxide with NaCl 0.15 M solution, solution fo r lignins from sugar cane bagasse spent liquor and for comercially availabl e lignin derivatives(AT indulin and W-1 indulin).
