Abstract
Monomeric neutral hydroxoruthenium complexes, Tp(2)(iPr)RuOH(L-2) (L-2 = dp pe, bipy), are prepared by deprotonation of aquo complexes, and it is confi rmed that dehydrative condensation reaction of the hydroxo complexes with c arboxylic acids involves protonation of hydroxo ligand followed by replacem ent of the resultant aquo ligand by the nucleophile.
