Materials such as titanium substituted ferrites are interesting for the stu
dy of chemical reactions like oxidizing or reducing in compounds with spine
l structure. These compounds synthesized by soft chemistry were studied by
in-situ anomalous powder diffraction in various annealing conditions. In th
e particular case of Fe2.5Ti0.5O4, the first results show that this particu
lar ferrite can't be obtained directly by soft chemistry with the expected
composition. Indeed, the rate of Ti substitution measured by structural ana
lyses is well under that expected (0.5) whereas chemical analyses (ICP) con
firm this rate.
