Energy-dispersive x-ray diffraction (EDXD), with synchrotron radiation
and diamond anvil cells (DAC), is used with different pressure sensor
s to determine the lattice parameters and equations of state (EOS) at
room temperature, and pressures up to typically 40 GPa, for KBr, KI, R
bCI, RbBr, RbI, CsCl, and CsBr. A comparison with previous literature
data obtained by various techniques, and for different ranges of press
ure indicates that all of the data fit to a recently proposed 'simple'
first-order EOS form.
