Wj. Flynn et al., DELAYED HYPHEMA AND INTRAVITREAL BLOOD FOLLOWING INTRABLEB AUTOLOGOUSBLOOD INJECTION AFTER TRABECULECTOMY, American journal of ophthalmology, 124(1), 1997, pp. 115-116
PURPOSE: To report delayed hyphema and intravitreal blood as complicat
ions following intrableb autologous blood injection after trabeculecto
my. METHODS: Case report. A 44-year old woman with hypotony and maculo
pathy after trabeculectomy with mitomycin C received an intrableb auto
logous blood injection. RESULTS: Three days after the blood injection,
a hyphema formed and subsequently dispersed into the vitreous. CONCLU
SIONS: Although immediate hyphema from autologous blood injection is c
ommon, hyphema may be delayed and associated with intravitreal blood.
