Abstract
This paper presents experimental evaluations of the quantitative difference in the capability of operators to distinguish thermal bar targets when the y observe them on different types of monitors by means of a thermal viewer. The evaluation of the image quality of bar targets imaged by optoelectroni c devices in the visible and IR ranges is used as the basis for ranking inf ormation-display systems.
