Electronic specific heat coefficients gamma of La1.6-xNd0.4SrxCuO4 (0.0 les
s than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.25) and La1.9Sr0.1Cu1-yZnyO4 h
ave been extracted over the wide temperature range between 2 and 300 K. by
carefully subtracting the phonon specific heat Cph from the total specific
heat C. For the former system, the x- and temperature(T)-dependence of gamm
a { drop (C - C-ph)/T} show clear evidence for the existence of the "stripe
order" around x - 1/8. Cu-site substitution effects on the behavior of gam
ma of La1.9Sr0.1Cu1-yZnyO4 and La1.48Nd0.4Sr0.12Cu1-yZnyO4 indicate that th
e fluctuating "stripe" suppresses the pseudo gap formation in these systems
