We examine the optical conductivity and spin correlation in the 'stripe' ph
ase of high-T-c cuprates in order to clarify the relationship between the v
ertical charge stripes and spin correlation. The spin correlation between t
he charge stripe and spin domain increases with decreasing temperature, T-,
T- down to T similar to J, J being the exchange energy. With further decrea
sing T, the correlation decreases, which is in contrast with other spin cor
relations that increase monotonically. The difference is caused by the 1D h
