Abstract
An X-ray crystal structure reveals that the attempted deprotonation of cycl opropyl(triphenyl)phosphonium bromide with sodium amide affords a chiral N- phosphine substituted iminophosphorane via an unusual mechanism that has be en investigated by multi-nuclear and variable temperature in situ NMR spect roscopy.
