Abstract
Lattice instability of the A(2)BX(4)-type crystal is studied on the basis o f a discrete four sublattice model. The eigenfrequency and the associated e igenvectors of the dynamical matrix at general I; values along the a* axis are analytically given. The relation between the wavenumbers at the incomme nsurate phase transitions, if any, and the interaction coefficients is clar ified.
