Abstract
Non-equilibrium kinetically frozen structures were observed in weakly charg ed polyacrylamide gels immersed in a poor-solvent. These structures are due to the vitrification of polymer-rich regions inside the gel which appear d uring the gel collapse. The paper presents the main results of the study of these structures by electron microscopy, SAXS and mechanical measurements.
