Abstract
A bipolar I x 16 amplifier array is described for hybrid integration with a n 8 x 8 p-i-n photodiode array receiver and application for parallel data i nterconnects through optical fibre arrays or free-space imaging. Limiting a mplifiers of the transimpedance-transadmirttance type were designed for low power consumption in BiCMOS technology and measured results for operation at 622 Mbits/s of the packaged amplifier-photoductor arrays are gir en.
