The production of amorphous and nanocrystalline materials in the form
of thin films and foils presents known problems. Thus, for example, fi
lms and foils obtained from the liquid state by hardening are characte
rized by porosity and roughness. This paper presents the three-electro
de production method of amorphous and nanocrystalline metallic alloys
which are devoid of these disadvantages. Previously ionized argon is u
sed as operating gas. The advantages of this method are high purity an
d homogeneity of the films obtained, film production of various materi
als and the possibilities for deposition on different substrates. (C)
