Abstract
This paper reports recent atom probe analysis results of Fe-Zr-B(-Cu, Si, Al) and Al-Ni-Ce(-Cu) nanocrystalline alloys which are fabricated by primary crystallization of amorphous phase. Clustering, partitionin g and segregation of alloying elements in the course of primary crysta llization have been thoroughly studied by atom probe field ion microsc opy (APFIM). Mechanisms of nanocrystallization in these systems are di scussed based on these results. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
