Abstract
We report the ultrafast impulsive excitation of coherent LO phonons with th e frequency of 5.57 THz in InSb. These phonons, when generated by femtoseco nd laser pulses. exhibit phase-dependent fluctuation properties. that is, t he variance of coherent amplitude is a function of time delay. The variance oscillations occur, for short time delays, at twice the frequency of the c oherent amplitude. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
