Abstract
In this paper we report some results on the dependence of the pulsed v oltage output of Fe77.5Si7.5B15 magnetostrictive amorphous wires used as delay lines on the amplitude and pulse width of the pulsed exciting current. For our experimental conditions, the maximum values for the pulsed voltage output are obtained for 4.9 mu s pulse width and 15 A a mplitude of the pulsed exciting current. The determination of such a d ependence is important in order to obtain the maximum MDL sensitivity necessary to improve the response of the sensors and array sensors bas ed on this technique.
