Abstract
Recent research on autism and related disorders has increasingly focus ed on mechanisms (e.g. in relation to the genetics of autism and the n ature of the psychologic deficits underlying the condition). The recen t delineation of subtypes within the broader pervasive developmental d isorder class of disorder has raised many issues for future research.
