Abstract
5-Iodo-nido-7,8-dicarbaundecaborane salts containing the iodine atom in the polyhedron skeleton, as well as 9-iodo- and 9,11-diiodo-rtido-7,8-dicarbau ndecaborates containing iodine atoms at the boron atoms in the pentagonal p lane of the polyhedron, enter into cross-coupling with organomagnesium comp ounds, catalyzed by palladium complexes, to give 5-organo-, 9-organo-, and 9,11-diorgano-nido-7,8-dicarbaundecaborane salts.
