Abstract
The relation between Er3+ up-converted luminescent intensity and pump power in Er3+-doped material and Er3+- Yb3+-codoped material is studied using th e transfer function theory. The Er3+ up-converted luminescent process in ox yfluoride glass-ceramics is discussed and it is found that the non-quadrati c relation between green up-converted luminescent intensity and pump power is caused by the strong cross-relaxation process of rare earth ions. Method s of increasing Er3+ up converted luminescent intensity in oxyfluoride glas s-ceramics are suggested.
