Abstract
Necessary and sufficient conditions are formulated for two matrices ha ving the same number of rows and columns to be be simultaneously diago nalized using a single equivalence transformation. The method for obta ining the transformation depends on using the Moore-Penrose pseudoinve rse and a full rank factorization of the matrices being diagonalized.
