We would like to report about an incident of MH while treating an 18 years
old patient with an ambulant general anaesthesia in a surgery. The triggeri
ng substance was sevoflurane. As the treating doctor was low on stock of da
ntrolen, the patient was therefore admitted to hospital in a life-threateni
ng state. Due to the mild course of the MH the patient recovered after bein
g treated with dantrolene in our hospital. Consequential damage did not occ
ur. This case shows the necessity to provide dantrolene to all anaesthetic
departments in a sufficient quantity including ambulant anaesthetic surgeri
es, too.
