Rj. Mccaffrey et al., Serial neuropsychological assessment with the National Institute of MentalHealth (NIMH) AIDS Abbreviated Neuropsychological Battery, ARCH CLIN N, 16(1), 2001, pp. 9-18
The effect of repeated administration of the National Institute of Mental H
ealth (NIMH) AIDS Abbreviated Neuropsychological Battery was evaluated in a
group of "at risk" individuals who served as control subjects in a larger
research project. Subjects' performance across five assessment points was e
valuated by repeated measures analysis. Statistically significant trends we
re obtained on the California Verbal Learning Test, the Paced Auditory Seri
al Addition Task, and the State scale of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory.
No discernable trends were detected on the Vocabulary subtest of the Wechs
ler Adult Intelligence Scale-Revised, total time or errors on the Visual Se
arch Task, the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, or the Trait scale of the
State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. The implications of these findings in both c
linical and research settings are discussed. (C) 2000 National Academy of N
