Abstract
The synthesis and reactivity of palladium complexes having functionali zed aryl ligands are reported. Their reactions with alkynes take place with the insertion of one or two alkyne molecules into the carbon-pal ladium bond, resulting in the formation of different organic or organo metallic compounds depending on several factors such as the nature of the aryl group, the alkyne, and the other ligands attached to the pall adium atom. Organometallic Wittig reactions, whose stereoselectivity i s modulated by the nature of the nitrogen donor ligand attached to the palladium atom, are also described.
