STANDARDIZATION OF RADIOGRAPHIC DIAGNOSIS IN CLINICAL-STUDIES OF HIP AND KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS

Aim of study: Recommendations of standardized radiographic assessment in clinical and epidemiological studies on patients with hip and knee osteoarthritis. Methods: Survey of published studies and results of co nsensus conferences regarding reproducibility of radiographic assessme nt and standardization procedures. Clinical relevance: With the propos ed guidelines a standardized and reproducible radiographic assessment of patients with hip and knee osteoarthritis in clinical and epidemiol ogical studies is possible. The recommended procedures can be suppleme nted by additional techniques.
