SCPORCINO: Computer programme for the control of the swine herd

Scporcino is a programme developed in MSAccess 2.0 for IBM compatible micro computers: to mainly automatize the management of the swine herd and the co ntrol of its population in all the productive phases: reproduction, materni ty, pre-fattening and fattening. the individual control of sows and boars, the processing of productive and reproductive indicators and reproductive p redictions. It has a database accumulating daily information on the herd mo vement and the products used in pig feeding, according to the productive ph ases and productive and reproductive events. e.g. farrowings total of sows and litters weaned and matings, among others. From these data those corresp onding to the desired period call be obtained. Also, the final stock of ani mals and feed expenses can be monthly up-dated. The use of this programme o rganizes all the management process carried out by researchers, technicians and producers in charge of swine production and at the same time it makes it feasible to obtain indicators fur decision making in a convenient, preci se and systematic way.
