The standard molar enthalpies of sublimation of M(eta (5) C5H5)Cl-2 (M = Ti
, V, Zr, Nb, Hf, and W) compounds, at 298.15 K, were determined by the Knud
sen effusion method to be: 124.4+/-2.9 kJmol(-1) (M = Ti), 108.5+/-4.6 kJmo
l(-1) (M = Zr), 110.2+/-2.9 kJmol(-1) (M = Hf), 140.1+/-7.4 kJmol(-1) (M =
V) 127.4+/-4.4 kJmol(-1) (M = Nb), and 120.7+/-8.6 kJmol(-1) (M = W). The r
esults obtained show a tendency to linearly decrease with increasing metal
atomic radius.
