Abstract
The title compound has been synthesised from per-6-amino-beta-cyclodex trin and 2,2'-dipyridyl-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid dichloride under <<high -dilution conditions>> and has been characterised by spectroscopic met hods and by semiempirical calculations carried out using an AM1 method which suggested an A, C substitution in the capped beta-cyclodextrin.
