Seroprevalence of listeriosis was studied in 75 repeat breeder and 15 pregn
ant cattle kept as control by using standardized plate-ELISA and dot-ELISA
using culture filtrate antigen of pathogenic Listeria monocytogenes. Seropo
sitivity was recorded in 26 (34.6%) repeat breeder animals with titres rang
ing from 1:200 to 1:3200 by plate-ELISA as compared to 28 (37.33%) animals
by dot-ELISA. All the control animals were negative. Out of 26 positive rep
eat breeders, 13 animals were treated with enrofloxacin each receiving 1.5g
(i/m) for 3 days alongwith 300 mg drug intrauterine 24 hr post inseminatio
