Abstract
Different chromophores were encapsulated in molecular sieves, and the optic al properties were investigated. A spiropyran derivative in different fauja sites, obtained by dye synthesis in the nanocages, exhibits improved proper ties as optical switch. By pumping of rhodamine BE 50 in AlPO4-5, synthesiz ed through addition of the chromophore to the synthesis mixture of the mole cular sieve, stimulated emission (lasing) was observed. A SO2 sensor was co nstructed by suspending MCM-41,containing a covalently bonded rhodamine B, in a polysiloxane film.
