Abstract
This paper describes the synthesis of two diastereoisomers of an imidazolin e dipeptide mimetic (a 4,5-dihydroimidazole-4-carboxylic acid). suitably pr otected for incorporation into solid phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) using t he Fmoc protocol, from a phenylalanine-derived thioimidate and an alpha,bet a -diaminopropanoic acid ester, followed by protecting group manipulation.
