Abstract
The formation of new sulphuric acid-water droplets in atmospheric cond itions is investigated. In the present study a two mode (new and pre-e xisting) integral aerosol dynamics model is used. The model includes s ulphuric acid formation in the homogeneous gas phase, nucleation, cond ensation and coagulation. The simulations show the atmospheric conditi ons, in which the formation of new particles is important, and enable us to derive a simple analytical expression for these conditions.
